The Adani Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates, is currently facing multiple legal battles over alleged environmental violations across the country. The legal scrutiny, which includes cases related to land use violations and environmental clearance lapses, poses a significant challenge to the group’s ambitious expansion plans.

A key case involves a $2 billion power plant project in Uttar Pradesh, where environmental activists and local communities claim that the mandatory environmental impact assessment (EIA) process was bypassed. Similarly, in Mumbai, the Adani Group is under investigation for alleged land reclamation violations in a coastal project near the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL).

The Indian Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has launched a probe into these allegations, while public interest litigation (PILs) have been filed in various courts seeking stricter regulations on industrial projects.

Despite these challenges, the Adani Group maintains that all its projects are legally compliant and environmentally sustainable. However, industry analysts warn that the ongoing legal battles could delay key infrastructure projects and impact the company's financial standing.
